Pilots

niwatec GmbH offers high or low pilots as well as differential pressure switches for pipeline protection against overpressure or underpressure that may be integrated in the control.

In case the pressure in the pipeline differs from the adjusted reference value, the pilot triggers off the opening or closing of the valve into the safety position.

Differential Pressure Switch

A differential pressure switch compares the upstream pressure with the downstream pressure and releases as soon as the preset pressure value (setpoint) is exceeded.

The pressure values (setpoints) are adjustable, the shift valve ist available as 2/2-way or 3/2-way valve NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed).

Technical Data
  • Control pressure: 0 upto 210 bar (3000 psi)
  • Maximum pressure differential: 10 bar (145 psi) adjustment range: 0,25 upto 4 bar and 4 upto 10 bar
  • Size: DN1
  • Ambient temperature: -25 °C upto +60 °C
  • Fluids: compressed air / natural gas (sweet or sour gas), if you need other fluids, just ask.
  • Material: anodised aluminium

High Pilot

The pipeline is protected against overpressure by the high pilot. In case the adjusted maximum pressure in the pipeline is exceeded,

the high pilot releases, providing for the valve driving into the safety position (open or closed).

  • Control voltage: 5 to 120 bar
  • Measuring accuracy: 1 % (in accordance with DIN 14382)
  • Size: DN3 (1/4“)
  • Ambient temperature: -25 °C upto +60 °C
  • Fluids: natural gas (sweet or sour gas). Should you require other fluids, just ask.
Optional Features
  • Delivery either NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed)
  • Size: DN6 (3/8“)
  • Reference value adjustable
  • Stainless steel model for sour gas is available, further models (different material or fluids, etc.) on request

Low Pilot

The low pilot protects the pipeline against underpressure. In case the pressure in the pipeline falls below the preset minimum

value, the low pilot releases, providing for the valve driving into the safety position (open or closed).

  • Measuring accuracy: 1 % (according to DIN 14382)
  • Size: DN3 (1/4“)
  • Ambient temperature: -25 °C upto +60 °C
